Vestibular Physiotherapy care is provided by Amber at Nova Physiotherapy. She has advanced vestibular training and uses Insight Infrared Video Goggles to enhance assessment and diagnosis. These specialized goggles track and measure your eye movements in real time, helping us more accurately identify the source of your symptoms.

Your vestibular system helps control your balance, coordination, and sense of where your body is in space. Vestibular dysfunction occurs when this system is not working properly or is not communicating well with your brain and body.

If you experience vestibular dysfunction you may:

  • Experience dizziness, vertigo, or a spinning sensation
  • Feel off-balance or unsteady when walking or moving
  • Notice symptoms when turning your head or changing positions
  • Get dizzy when rolling in bed, lying flat, looking up or down
  • Changing positions such as laying back in a dentist chair, getting your hair washed at the salon, during inversions such as at yoga, or turning over on a massage table
  • Feel lightheaded, foggy, or disoriented throughout the day
  • Have had a concussion and continue to feel dizzy or off
  • Avoid certain movements or activities because of dizziness
  • Have been told you have a vestibular issue

Conditions often treated with vestibular physiotherapy:

  • Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
  • Vestibular neuritis or inner ear dysfunction
  • Concussion or post-concussion symptoms
  • Neck-related dizziness
  • Migraine-associated dizziness
