What is In-Home Physiotherapy?
In-home physiotherapy brings care directly to your home. Physiotherapists assess, diagnose, and treat movement, strength, and functional challenges in your environment. Care is tailored to your daily tasks, independence, and home safety needs.
Do I need a doctor's referral to attend in-home physiotherapy?
No. In-home physiotherapy is direct-access care. You can book and attend appointments without a referral from a doctor. Some insurance plans may require a referral for coverage, so we recommend checking with your insurance provider before booking.
Do you direct bill insurance companies?
Yes. We can direct bill for most insurance plans. It is your responsibility to confirm with your insurance provider whether your plan covers in-home physiotherapy before booking.
How do you take payment for in-home physiotherapy sessions?
We can direct bill your insurance if coverage allows. If direct billing isn’t an option or there is an outstanding amount, we can securely process credit card payments via phone. In-person payment by debit, cash or cheque is also accepted if you prefer not to use a credit card. You will receive an email with your receipt once payment has been processed.
My doctor or surgeon referred me. Is this covered under Saskatchewan Health?
No. Services at Nova Physiotherapy are not covered under Saskatchewan Health. We can direct bill most insurance companies or accept cash, credit, or debit. You will receive a receipt for insurance claims or tax purposes.
What will my first in-home visit look like?
Your physiotherapist will arrive at your home. They will review your health history, assess movement, strength, and functional tasks such as walking, transfers, and posture, and create a personalized treatment plan. Exercises and strategies will be adapted to your home environment and daily routines.
What should I wear or prepare for my in-home physiotherapy appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. Clear a small space for exercises if needed. Have any relevant medical information available. Your physiotherapist will bring any necessary equipment.
How many physiotherapy sessions will I need?
It depends on your condition, goals, and response to treatment. Some people notice improvements after a few sessions, while others with more complex or chronic issues may need ongoing care. A plan will be developed at your first visit.
Can I book this appointment for my loved one?
If you are the Power of Attorney or Health Care Proxy you are able to book an appointment on the client’s behalf. Please phone the clinic at 306-382-3332 or email info@novaphysiotherapysk.com to get more information!
